Report: Mexican police rescue kidnapped reporters
Posted: 7/31/2010

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A Mexican TV network says police have rescued two reporters kidnapped by drug traffickers five days ago.

Multimedios Television says one of its cameramen and another who works for Televisa were rescued before dawn.

Multimedios anchor Ciro Gomez Leyva said federal police would have more details later Saturday.

The two cameramen were abducted Monday along with a Televisa reporter after they left a prison in the northern city of Gomez Palacio. They had covered a protest against the arrest of the penitentiary's director.

The reporter, Hector Gordoa, was released Thursday.

A journalist for a local newspaper was abducted the same day in a separate incident in Gomez Palacio. It's not clear if he has been rescued.
